Hihlights:
• Fully restored Jaguar XK 120 OTS (Open Two Seater) with over 400,000 EUR total investment, exceptional documentation and available appraisal from 6-2023 for a restoration value of 378,000 EUR
• USA first delivery via Hornburg to Los Angeles on April 24, 1952. After three US owners, it was imported to the Netherlands to the Kamps company in 2019. From there, the current owner bought the Jaguar and then commissioned Kübler Classic Cars with a three-year complete restoration. All parts were dismantled, overhauled and refurbished. In addition, the restoration was documented in detail with over 1,000 pictures.
Below are some excerpts of the work carried out:
- Completely dismantle the chassis into all individual parts
- Clean, derust, sandblast, powder-coat or galvanize all usable parts
- Complete chassis overhaul with axles, wheel suspensions & brakes
- Dismantle body, sandblast, partially install new aluminum panels & adjust chrome parts
- Dismantle the engine, measure the engine block, re-hone the bearing races, plan all sealing surfaces, measure and hone the cylinder tracks, measure, grind and nitride the crankshaft, angle and measure the connecting rods and assemble everything with modern bearing shells, pistons and bearings
- Completely dismantle cylinder head and inspect for cracks in ultrasonic bath, replace valve seats, valves & valve guides, install new camshafts & tappets, insert reinforced stud bolts, install new manifolds, glass bead blast intake manifold, paint engine block, fine balance flywheel & crankshaft
- Completely dismantle & clean gearbox, sandblast housing, galvanize add-on parts and reassemble with new seals
- Paint job: Completely sandblast the body, prime with 2K epoxy paint, level out any unevenness with alluvial tin, fine fill and prime the body, apply filler, fine sand, check gaps, paint edges & contact points as well as doors, trunk & hood from the inside, Repaint in desired color and Jaguar original blue shade Q 1132 Pacific Blue (original color from 1952), base coat, then intermediate sanding, then clear coat in at least 3 coats and intermediate sanding, sand & polish clear coat, paint underbody and wheel arches with structure,
- new cotton-sheathed wiring harness, restore all original lamps with new lenses and trim rings
- Complete overhaul of original Smith gauges in England
- Completely new cognac leather interior, extra set of sports seats made and also upholstered in leather
- new soft top made of high quality mohair fabric in blue to match the carpets, original plug-in windows, new windows & new fabric trim, including cover
- new chrome-plated spoke wheels 5.0x16' with high-quality Avon TL Turbosteel 185/80R 16 sports tires
- additionally supplemented and equipped with an aluminum high-performance radiator, electronic ignition, aluminum tank, battery disconnect switch & GPS transmitter
