The body construction department processes and finishes all sheet-metal parts with extceptional precision for the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupé and Roadster. The high level of finishing level can only be attained through the use of forms and molds developed in the company. This applies to both steel and aluminum sheets and work. Using this know how the filler and weld can be kept to a minimum so that a perfect surface and clearance can be achieved. Additionally, the use of precision frame gauges for Roadsters and Coupés it can be guaranteed that Tubular Frames with hidden accident damage are restored to the original factory specifications.

Every restoration project begins with an extremely detailed examination of all of the individual parts. They are labeled, categorized, modularly sorted and stored. Adhering to the company’s philosophy as few parts as possible are exchanged or renewed. Rather, great importance is attached to the fact that parts belonging to the car are restored as faithfully as possible and then reinstalled. Every car, thus, keeps its original identity.
Before work begins, a detailed restoration plan is drawn up and discussed and agreed in detail with the customer. This plan is the basis used to manage and carry out the many, individual, work steps with the highest level of quality and efficiency and, at the same time, respecting the time aspects of the plan. Thus it is possible to carry out the complex restauration process in a comparably tight timeframe.

The team that exclusively works on engines is now 5 strong. The mechanics many years of experience is reflected in the perfectly smooth running and power of the refurbished engines.
Ten years ago, HK-ENGINEERING took acquired the complete machinery from an engine repair company so that all work from that time on could be carried out in-house. The fuel injection pump department has a significant role in this. HK-ENGINEERING has had its own injection pump test bench for 30 years. Pumps and nozzles are only overhauled in-house.

Interiors of fascinating quality are achieved by the establishment of our own in-house saddlery, for which we employ the best in their field. The sue of original materials of the highest quality ensures perfect results in both leather and carpet work.
4. PAINT SHOP
PERFECT PAINT PREPARATION AND PAINTING
In our own in-house with the many years of experience of the people working there ensure perfect paint surfaces and finish. For this, a professional paint preparation work in relation to panel fit and surfaces is especially important.
Recently, we have started being able to carry our paintwork in Nitro. In other words with the same material that the majority of 300 SL's were originally painted. The interaction between our own paint shop and body department ensures an optimal end result.
5. VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY
PREPARATION OF ALL TECHNICAL COMPONENTS
In the area of vehicle technology axles, transmission, differential, suspension, brake system and other components are professionally prepared. The aim is as far as possible to restore the vehicle’s delivery status to the original. Wherever required, targeted improvement measures from our development department can also be incorporated, be it on the brake system, the cooling system, the clutch, the power supply or other components.
