The famous Pagoda was used immediately after it was introduced in 1963 by the famous Mercedes-Benz works driver, Eugen Böhringer, in some long-distance rallies to give the vehicle the image of a real sports car. Our Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda was completely restored by Kienle on behalf of a passionate collector and was constructed in the same way as the original Böhringer car. A German 230 SL pagoda in the original condition, only three previous owners and with an old cardboard letter and matching numbers, served as the perfect starting point for the restoration. Compared to the production vehicle, the omission of the convertible top, performance increase, 100 liter fuel tank, reinforced springs / clutch / shock absorber, improved cooling, sports exhaust system, underride protection, weight optimization through lightweight components, as well as the installation of an original ZF 5-speed gearbox were changed, as with the original rally vehicle. All work was of course recorded in an extensive photo documentation. We have invoices totaling € 160,000. The last maintenance for € 3,800 by Mercedes-Benz took place in August 2019. Secure this unique rally Pagoda in excellent condition.
