In 1995 Hans Kleissl decided to reenter the fastest sportscar of all time, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL into racing. This was the beginning of the development of HK racing into a permanent fixture in motorsport. HKE racing Gullwings have become an integral part of established events such as the Le Mans Classic, Goodwood Revival, the Oldtimer Grand Prix, the Carrera Panamericana, Daytona 24 Hour Classic and many others.
